Congratulations to the Savannah Shamrocks that went undefeated in pool play, including a victory over the previously unbeaten sevens team of the Atlanta Renegades, en route to a #1 seed in the Cup playoffs. Savannah notched a one-sided victory in the quarter finals before coming up short against Charleston in the semi-finals. This marks the best tournament result for the Shamrocks since their 2nd place showing at Pitch-a-Tent last year.
The women showed signs of improved sevens play as well at this tournament coming up a try short in two separate games. The team has really improved their play since the beginning of the summer and look to continue that trend as they head to Columbia for the Capital City 7’s next weekend.
Up next for both the men and women is their annual jaunt to the hottest capital in the South, Columbia, South Carolina, on June 29th for the Capital City 7’s.
